By becoming personally involved and taking time to get to know everything we
can about clients and their businesses, we are able to give best advice to
achieve profit maximisation and minimise liability to Corporation Tax.
We deal with the routine compliance requirements to ensure timely preparation
and submission of clients' annual tax returns under self-assessment, much of
which is now done electronically.
Increasing personal income, greater awareness of investment opportunities and
growth in the value of homes mean more and more clients are exposed to Income
Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax which are the predators on personal
wealth. We specialise in helping clients formulate plans to minimise the impact
of these taxes by preparing effective financial strategies which are in harmony
with their business and personal goals.
Directors and Managers allocated to clients are the point of primary control and
underwrite Murray Taylor's commitment to constant client care.
Tax Planning
By We adopt a holistic approach to clients and their financial affairs. Regular
on-going contact means we can anticipate, before filing deadline dates, the
likely profile of accounts and take effective steps to reduce unnecessary
exposure to tax. We have a robust, good working relationship with the Inland
Revenue who know we will always fight our clients' corner; and equally that we
will not try to defend the indefensible. Inland Revenue and VAT investigations
are on the increase and usually occur without warning, creating an unbudgeted
liability for professional fees and expenses irrespective of the outcome. As a
further valuable service to business and private clients we can arrange
insurance cover on favourably negotiated terms, to meet the costs of these
unforeseen tax investigations.
IR35 claims:
We have strong negotiating skills and have successfully defended clients where
the Inland Revenue have attacked alleged "disguised employee" cases, and have
attempted to collect PAYE and NI contributions.
Settlements legislation (sec. 660 ICTA 1988):
The Inland Revenue are focusing increased attention on small family businesses,
and on how their profits are earned and distributed. We have considerable
experience of advising partnerships, SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises)
and family businesses on how best to structure their affairs.
